Moments of hope during Covid

2020 was an unprecedented year with Covid locking us down and life taking an unexpectedly tragic turn. 2021 continued in much the same way here in the UK. On a global scale our lives have been turned upside-down.

Viewing the last 14 months since our first lockdown through the prism of weddings - moments like these got me through…

Emotions were high and tears flowed - precious times with family brought home what really matters.

Our first UK Covid lockdown ended just in time for me to head out with Gillian and Tom for their engagement shoot in the Lake District.

Adventures with Tom and Gillian went from one end of the country to the other. Rules on numbers permitted at weddings stayed just long enough for their Summer wedding at Longleat. Tom wore Giraffe socks - and yes, they met the approval of the Giraffes!

Dogs at Weddings! There were restrictions on the number of people that could attend a wedding ceremony - but there were no limits on the number of dapper dogs allowed. These guys were awesome, a good challenge to photograph and great fun to share the day with.

Emotions have shone through…

Sharing the day with friends and family in far-flung places - thank you Zoom!

Having time for the unusual... un-ewe-sual!

Masks!

An unexpected benefit for me has been the gift of time, enabling me to slow down, take in more of the details and concentrate on what matters most - telling your story.

And I was lucky enough to still see you all - through Zoom and Facetime, being with you for rescheduling and re-rescheduling. When lockdown eased it was wonderful being able to meet again for engagement shoots. I’m so looking forward for the weddings ahead - roll on the Summer and beyond!

During Covid, through 2020/21 I’ve felt so privileged (even more than usual) to be part of your weddings. With restrictions on ceremony numbers, still being invited to capture your day has been a real delight. I’ve cherished getting out with you all - it’s been wonderful. Thank you so much everyone! xx
